Whoops…

Important change of date

Please note, the next event will take place on March 18, not March 11 as previously announced.

Save the date!

Friends, we are happy to announce that next year’s TEDxWarsaw (our sixth major event, and, oh-we-have-lost-count which one all-told) will take place on March 11. We have a brand new venue (which we’ll be announcing soon), and registration will open early this month.

We have a few experiments in store for you this time – we hope you’ll love it all as much as we do. Can’t wait!

“The Little Things” – the small, yet important stuff. That’s what we’ll be talking about. See you live or on line on March 11, 2015.

How about a small contest?

Registration for the TEDxWarsaw 2015 has not been opened yet, but you can already secure yourself a seat at the event!

You can join the ranks of TEDxWarsaw Open Translation Project Team and take part in a translation contest. First five volunteers who will complete two translations or transcriptions given at previous TEDxWarsaw events will receive a special invitation. Rules (PL) are here.

To help people who are not familiar with OTP, we will organize TEDx Translation Marathon – Translate-a-thon – where you will be able to meet more experienced translators, work under their supervision, receive feedback and ask questions. It will take place at Language Training Center Lang (al. Niepodległości 217/8) on 28th of November 2014, 4:30-8:00pm. To sign up, please fill this application form.

So it’s over now. Or is it?

And so the fifth edition of TEDxWarsaw has been and gone and, while recovering from the exhaustion, we are already missing the energy and positive vibe of both our speakers and you, our guests and viewers.

Many thanks to our speakers, sponsors and partners, production crew, volunteers and the many other people who helped us make TEDxWarsaw 2014 bigger and better than ever. If you have photos of the event, please upload them to Flickr and tag them tedxwarsaw so we may find them. If you have blogged about it, please send us links. And, finally, if you would like to get involved in creating next year’s event, or indeed any of our companion events during the year, please get in touch.

We are already hard at work on TEDxWarsawPresidentialPalace, set for May 29. This is going to be a great year!

We’ll see you this Thursday

Spray can-wielding Danes and Tango dancers, inventors and technologists, photographers and educators: our Fifth Anniversary edition is shaping up nicely and we can’t wait to open the doors at Multikino on Thursday.
This is our biggest gathering yet and we will be welcoming some 1000+ guests from all around Poland and many neighbouring (and not necessarily neighbouring) countries. Our speakers and artists will include Tomasz Tomaszewski (Poland’s most accomplished photojournalist), Erica Hargreave (Canadian blogger and educator), Yuri Drabent (social media maven), Olek (The Artists Who Who Crochets Everything), physicist Lech Mankiewicz and traditional storyteller Jan Blake.

In a World where Otherness is a quality we all all face in some way every day, the need is great for discussion about issues of understanding, co-operation and willingness to accept our differences, if we are to have any hope of a better future for us all. We hope, the inspiration sparked off by our speakers and fueled by the connections you make at the conference will start off some of those discussions.

Thanks to the help of our many sponsors and partners, we are able to bring you a memorable event. We are very grateful to them all for their enthusiasm and staunch support.
